Took ma bitch to Paris for a ROOMANTIC GETAWAAY. I am such an adult. pffft. I thought as I was just about to abandon him for 3 months - poor guy, that I'd better do something nice with him before I left. It was very nice. Then got him a ticket to come get me from Thailand at the end of my trip...to assist in bringing my sorry ass home. I left there kicking and screaming.

A few of my favourite purchases over recent times, some bought during travels some before, some after. We shopped so much, such naughty girls! We were having to send big boxes home as we were going round - due to mass case filling issues. Our box we sent back from Los Angeles got home, but the Gold Coast and the Sydney box - no where to be seen as yet...haha FUNNY. It's probably having a nice trip over on a boatie or something.

I'm back! Back from the epic once in a life time travels. What an amazing three months it's been! My sister and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect adventure. We're sad it's over but so happy it happened.

I shall appollogise in advance for the travel spamming that my blog will now be subjected to...it's going to take weeks to go through the thousands of photographs and memories, bit I have to record it somewhere, so some of it will be on here. It was truly life changing, so I never really want to let the memories go. Those close to me know why we went and what it meant to us.

I feel so refreshed right now, I have a lot of life stuff to sort out currently, but I'm really excited about what's to come.

My sister held the best Halloween party ever at the weekend. I don't think I've ever made so much effort for Halloween before, so this was so good! She and my cousin (guy with scary wax face thing) created this amazing outside inside decor, the whole of her living room was turned into the "outdoors" - leaves covering the entire floor, branches everywhere - basically lots of scary all over the show. And then there was the lengths everyone went to with their costumes...bloody beauties!
Me and my sister dressed all identical (top photo - I'm on the right, my sister Nicole's on the left), we often get people wondering if we're twins. Yep. She was two years late and stunted har har. I had her friends talking to me thinking it was her at the party. Good times.
My bestie, Lease - won best costume prize, she went as Hit Girl from Kick Ass. Amazing.

I saw these yesterday and I was a little taken aback. Mainly because they're by Current/Elliott! Same shape as their notorious (and rather illusive) Grey Leopard print Stiletto skinnys. But this plaid style will only ever be fully awesome if they stay super tight and fitted - which is a big old NO, straight off. C/E skinnys never stay skinny, so I'm already not a fan of these. It's a tricky look to pull off - much harder than their grey leopard ones - mine end up hanging off me all ugly by the end of the day, rubbish. These aren't going to be any where as near as much of a hit. but interesting nonetheless...

I went to a brilliant art exhibition yesterday with my Auntie, at the Tate Modern. It was the work of Gerhard Richter, famous for his simultaneously produced abstract and photorealistic painted works. His photorealistic paintings are incredible, he uses oils and an amazing blurring/softening technique, which is stunning. Makes me want to get my paints out, it's been too long.

Here is a bunch of awesome shit I can't stop thinking about. I have the blouse, blazer, jeans, skull necklace and nail varnish - my current dilemma is which shoes to go for next.

However, on the plus side, these Current/Elliot 'The Skinny' (which is a lie, but whatever), are getting better and better by the day. They do the best boyfriends. (HA. not actual boyfriends, but hay, that would make life easier!) - boyfriend style jeans. Buy this style nice and small - you'll have to use your imagination and trust they will change shape. Then watch it drop and hang all boyfriendy. Love it. Sadly though, I don't think I'd ever recommend a skinny style by them, their denim doesn't lend itself to tight and figure hugging.

Anyway, back to the shoe situ. I go through shoes like no ones business. It is the uncoolest thing ever. I trash them. I try not to, but it just happens damn it! I want to be one of those people who keeps shoes forever, but mine all tend to have a lifespan of about three to four months. *sigh*
Finally found a pair of suede colour chunky heels I like, from Office - wish I could wear those all day at work without me wanting to chop my feet off at the end of the day! Also really enjoying the lumo ASOS brogues with a twist. Cool sole oui. Love unusual brogues, I still have those Kurt Geiger ones in my head that I let get away - the light grey ones with the fluro pink sole - amazing. Sold out though. Bad times.

I really should get a life and stop talking about shoes. And I wish I also had small boobs, so I can wear bra from Lonely Hearts NZ. okay.

I've also decided that high street just doesn't cut it. It has to be vintage or authentic. Etsy have some good vintage ones, but the best ones are handmade by the Wayuú indigenous women of Shukumajaya and all the proceeds from the sale the bags go to benefiting the Wayuú indigenous people. Good. And they do a damn good job, they really are beautiful.

Seriously. Kelly knows how I feel. I have a serious shoe buying problem. I need counseling or something. The other day, I just bought some because I really felt I needed some new shoes, and now I'm not even sure about them! (the River Island booties in the middle...whoops). I love the Office studded peep toe ones, but they break my heart a little bit - THEY ARE SO UNCOMFORTABLE.
I wish I had got some Chelsea boots instead of those RI ones, fool. AND I need those suede green ASOS brogues in my life so bad - to wear with boyfriend jeans, pref. the Current Elliot "Roller" - dream team right there!

Currently going crazy for oversized round sunnies - as is the rest of the planet. The hunt has been long and hard, but with minimal damage to the bank account, I managed to get two perfect pairs for £12. H&M, I salut you. x
Anyway, I put together a bunch of em that I drooled over for a while, the Karen Walker and The Row one's being my fave - the prices of said favs however, hurt my brain.

These are pretty rad. A little bit bad ass - without going the full hog (that would be donning a pair of these bad boys - which are still available in store at Donna Ida by the way). I love how skinny they are, comfortable, with that rocker edge. And you wouldn't sweat bucket loads come late spring, as they are super light.
Yet another pair to add to the wish list. I also prefer these to the J Brand 'Agnes' Stealth, as they are longer in the leg...which is much better for lanky freak here. ha.

Okay. So. I've been intrigued by these beauts for a few weeks now. Over the last few days at work, I've watched the pile of these Current/Elliot Captain Trousers in 'bubble' diminish, and now there is just one pair in all our stock. I have requested it for uniform and there is a slight chance I may have lucked out. I'm hoping I haven't as, literally over the last day, have become rather obsessed with them! They are a wonderful fit, and that COLOUR - need I say more? GET IN MY LIFE NOW.

THE OMBRE BANDWAGON.

yup, so I got on it around December last year, when it was called "dip dye" or a "root blend" - and it has to be said, I loved it, very easy to maintain and all that, lovely and natural looking. When I had it done, it was done with more of a natural, subtle look, even though I told the girl to get as much contrast as she could, well, she couldn't get as much as I wanted and I couldn't be bothered to sit in there for another hour or whatever.
Anyway, now I want it again, but reaaaally contrasty - see pics bellow. I've decided I am going to try and do it myself, researched the techniques and stuff. The major hurdle will be getting any sort of colour to hold on my very white, almost silver blue toned hair, I really shouldn't be messing around with it, considering what "colour" it is at the moment, but I'm board again and want a change. I was also doing this to my friends hair at the weekend, and it made me want to do something different.

Right now my hair is two inches past shoulder length and I've NEVER had hair too much longer than that, so I'm also considering buying some clip-in hair extensions, as having boob length hair is the best way to carry this ombre look off. That way I'll just do the "ombre" colour gradient on them - much easier, and just tone down my own hair - so go an ash/medium blonde. It's gunna be a bit hit n miss! Hopefully it will work? Watch this space...

FYI - Ponsonby Road is awesome for beautiful on trend boutiques, nice kinda kooky bars and amazing coffee. It was always one place I never went to enough, always found myself Downtown or in Newmarket.

I couldn't sleep last night, so this happened...it's 3.5 years of Photo Booth-ness. I got my mac in March 2007, and here is every photo of a look/myself I've taken since then, up until now. I know it's a very self indulgent/cam whorish post - but interesting nontheless...aaaand I don't smile much in them because my teeth irritate the hell out of me. heh.

So yup, this is me from 20 to 24 and during this time, I finished my Uni degree, moved to New Zealand, lived there for two years and then moved back. A lot of hair dye was also involved. haha.
